In the late 1940′s, Gilbert and Hortense come to England from Jamaica and lodge with Queenie whose husband Bernard is still absent in the forces. They hope to find a better life, but the reality is rather different. This is a hard hitting, sometimes funny story of fraught relationships between people and races.
